The carbon footprint is a measure of the impact of a product on climate change. It is calculated by measuring the greenhouse gases (methane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) emitted during the various stages of the life cycle of the product.
To make this footprint easy to read, the gases and their impact are converted into kg equivalents. This is why we speak of kg of CO2e, where “e” stands for “equivalent”. FITT doesn’t just calculate the impact of its products: it also makes the information readily available, so that the customer can make a responsible choice. See below how.
